Forza Horizon 5 is the next part of the famous racing series, which allows players to race in a huge open world. During the game we participate in the Horizon Festival, which is a kind of motorsports event.
Forza Horizon 5 takes us on a journey through Mexico, which is the most extensive map in the history of the series, about 50% larger than the one included in Forza Horizon 4. There are deserts, rainforests, ancient ruins, huge canyons, picturesque beaches, as well as settlements, towns and the big city of Guanajuato. In addition, the highest point in the history of the series, the top of a volcano, is to be conquered.
FH5 includes a system of changing seasons, known from the fourth part, which has been modified. This time, the weather conditions are not universal for the entire map – for example, it may only be snowing in certain places. In addition, Mexico has a completely different climate than FH4 England, with previously unseen severe weather events such as sandstorms and severe tropical storms.
Forza Horizon 5 includes hundreds of vehicles – more than any previous game at launch. There are cars from all eras and categories – popular sports cars, SUVs and rally cars, historic cars, the latest hypercars and even cars built before World War II. There is no shortage of cars missing from previous installments of the series, such as the Mercedes-AMG Project One, Porsche Taycan, Jaguar XJR-15 or the new Ford Bronco.
In addition, the developers paid more attention to car modification, greatly increasing the number of available mechanical and visual tuning options. For example, there is an opportunity to influence the sound of the car, replacing parts of the exhaust system. Another interesting new feature is the ability to open and close the convertible while driving.
The open world offers the player more freedom in the choice of tasks. In addition to traditional races (both on asphalt and off-road) or tasks that involve accelerating to high speeds or making long jumps, there are some new forms of fun. The flagship of FH5 is the story mode, in which we participate in expeditions – exploring the picturesque corners of Mexico, encountering, for example, a sudden volcanic eruption.
Another important new feature is EventLab. It’s an editor where we can create our own challenges – not only set tracks from point A to point B on the map, but also change the game world by adding different objects or even creating special arenas, and set unique goals for ourselves.
You can enjoy all these attractions by playing alone or in a multiplayer mode implemented in the style of MMO games. The latter option offers additional forms of entertainment, such as group social quests.
